Richard graduated with a BSc in pharmacology and MB BS from St George's Hospital Medical School with many university prizes and distinctions. He was proxime accessit to the University of London Gold Medal in 1996. He trained in General Medicine at Hammersmith Hospital, St George's Hospital, The National Hospital for Neurology, Queen Square, London and Guy's and St Thomas' before undertaking his cardiology training at the Hammersmith Hospital and Ealing Hospital. He was awarded a Department of Health Clinician Science Fellowship in 2006 and was an honorary consultant in cardiology at Hammersmith Hospital. He is now a consultant cardiologist at the Epsom & St. Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust and at St George's Hospital London where he performs invasive cardiac procedures.

He has a strong foundation in Experimental Medicine and spent 4 years doing a PhD and post-doctoral work into vascular endothelial function for which he received the Geoffrey Rose Young Investigator Prize of the British Hypertension Society.

Richard has extensive experience in writing and teaching. He has co-authored over 35 original scientific papers and was Deputy Editor of CME Cardiology. He has been teaching on courses for the MRCP in London since 1999 and co-founded Handheld Courses in 2002.

Houman graduated from Cambridge in 1996 and then Oxford in 1999 with an MA and BM BCh. Houman won numerous prizes including the >proxime accessit in Clinical Pathology.

Since qualifying, he has trained at Oxfords John Radcliffe Hospital, Manchester Royal Infirmary, Hammersmith Hospital, The National Hospital for Neurology, Queen Square and The Royal Brompton Hospital. His cardiology training commenced at Hammersmith and is currently at Harefield Hospital.

Houman has published a large selection of papers and books and has had a broad exposure to teaching, including MRCP courses since 2001 and co-founded Handheld Courses in 2002.
